Overview

The MGT / EPR marine cable is primarily designed for fixed wiring installations in ships and other offshore units. These can be installations such as safety and emergency lighting, shut down control systems, gas detectors, alarm systems and fire pump systems. They are particularly ideal for social areas such as control rooms, computer suites and accommodation/kitchen facilities. Due to their construction, they are suitable for use in accommodation units and IT suites.

Construction

Conductor: Tinned stranded circular copper conductor
Insulation: MICA Glass Tape (MGT) with EPR GP4 insulation laid in pairs, triples or quads. Wrapped in polyester tape
Screen: Overall screened with aluminium backed polyester tape
Drain Wire: Tinned Copper
Bedding: LSF Flame retardant halogen free bedding
Inner Sheath: PET tape and rubberised polyamide tape
Armouring: Galvanised steel wire armour braid with PET tape over armour
Sheath: Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) SW4
Sheath Colour: Grey, Blue or Black

Characteristics

Voltage Rating: 150/250 Volts
Temperature Limits: -40°C (fixed installation) to +90°C
Minimum Bending Radius: As per cable manufacturer datasheet

Should not be installed at temperatures below -15°C
